Cochran is the director of compliance for Hendrick Automotive Group. He joined the Hendrick Automotive Group in 2012 and was named director of compliance in 2018. The nation's largest privately held dealer group, Hendrick Automotive, has 97 dealerships in 13 states, representing 27 manufacturers and about 11,000 employees.
The organization's proactive compliance culture is well-known in the industry. It was ranked fourth in Forbes magazine's “Best Employers by State” for 2022 and listed on the “Best Employers for Women” roster the same year.

Cochran studied business at Marshall University and started in the auto industry right after graduating. He's filled many roles in dealership operations, including sales, finance manager, general sales manager, general manager, and dealer principal. Early in his automotive career, Cochran earned certification from the Association of Finance & Insurance Professionals and completed JM&A's Automotive Finance training program. At Hendrick Automotive Group, he built menus specifically tailored for each dealership in the dealer group before accepting the position of Director of Compliance.
